The next chapter of “Friends” is here.
It’s the “One Where They Get Back Together.”
“Friends: The Reunion” is on HBO Max tonight. It only took 17 years after the series finale, but the whole cast returns to reflect on and celebrate the long-running NBC sitcom.
Here’s the information for when to tune in, who will be there, watch parties and other details.
Jennifer Aniston (Rachel), Courteney Cox (Monica), Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe), Matt LeBlanc (Joey), Matthew Perry (Chandler) and David Schwimmer (Ross) reunited to film the unscripted special at Stage 24, the show’s original soundstage on the Warner Bros. lot in Burbank, California.
The reunion arrives this week after filming was postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Don’t expect a new episode of “Friends,” but there will be plenty of series material. Actors revisit the series sets — the miraculously spacious apartment, the Central Perk hangout spot — and reminisce about the first table read. They will also deliver a reading of a “Friends” script.
“Everyone was so perfectly cast,” Schwimmer says in the trailer.
Another highlight: Aniston says an unnamed TV producer once told her she had no chance of succeeding with “Friends.”
“I remember I went to the producer of the show I was on and he said, ‘That show’s not gonna make you a star,’” she says in the reunion.
The series premiered on NBC in 1994 and wrapped in 2004, after 10 seasons. Fans continued to binge-watch the show, finding “Friends” on HBO Max in 2020 after the series left Netflix in 2019.
“Friends” executive producers Kevin Bright, Marta Kauffman and David Crane produced the reunion special with Aniston, Cox, Kudrow, LeBlanc, Perry and Schwimmer.
Variety reported that each actor received $2.5 million for the special, which is reminiscent of their pay during the series.
By the end of “Friends” in 2004, each cast member was being paid $1 million per episode.
James Corden plays host to the “Friends” cast for the reunion.
The trailer also shows David Schwimmer hosting some “Friends” cast trivia.

- Christina Pickles (Monica and Ross’ mother, Judy Geller) and Elliott Gould (their father, Jack Geller)
