When it rains, it pours, and fans of the iconic Tiësto couldn’t be happier. The Dutch superstar has been on a tear in 2021, treating listeners around the world to his club-ready EP Together Again, as well as a healthy serving of radio-friendly singles in “Don’t Be Shy” and now, “The Motto.”
Featuring the gripping vocal chops of pop powerhouse Ava Max, the new single is a welcome return to the swagged out sounds of 2020’s “The Business.” The track is largely defined by its catchy hook and swelling basslines, but beyond that, it’s also an exercise in simplicity. Like a true veteran, Tiësto proves that modern songwriting is not only about including the smoothest instruments and ripest melodies, but being able to identify and then strip the elements that don’t contribute to the party.
Commenting on “The Motto,” Tiësto says,
