Will HBO Go Become HBO Max?
Nah. Thus far, HBO Go — the HBO streaming service available to HBO cable subscribers — has not been absorbed into HBO Max. The service will remain the same, unaffected by HBO Max. HBO Go subscribers still have access to their HBO programming through the on demand platform.
Does HBO Max Replace HBO Now?
Also no! Although HBO Max is a new alternative to HBO Now, it will not be replaced. However, if you already subscribe to HBO Now through HBO, you’re in luck: along with their current HBO Now plan, new and existing subscribers will get access to HBO Max on May 27 at no additional cost. Just make sure you subscribe though HBONow.com and are billed through HBO (and not a third party), and you’re set to get your free HBO Max.
Does HBO Max Cost More Than HBO?
HBO Max will cost subscribers $14.99/month (the same price as HBO Now). HBO Now and Charter customers were upgraded to HBO Max for free at time of launch. For HBO cable subscribers who weren’t lucky enough to get access to the Max, it seems that most would benefit from removing the HBO add-on from their broadcast package and subscribing to the HBO Max streaming platform.
