Columbus forward Max Domi was placed on injured reserve after sustaining a fractured rib in Saturday's game against Seattle, the team announced on Monday. The Blue Jackets said he is expected to miss two to four weeks. The injury occurred in the first period as Domi lined up Seattle defenseman Adam Larsson for a hit but took the worst of it.
“(Domi) tried to move a big body there in Larsson, and he didn’t move much,” Blue Jackets coach Brad Larsen told reporters on Saturday after the game. “I think it got him a little bit.”
Domi hadn't been back in action long, having returned well ahead of schedule after undergoing offseason shoulder surgery. The 26-year-old has a goal and three assists through two games of his second season in Columbus.
