TriMet Red Line MAX riders will need to take shuttle buses from the train to the Portland International Airport between the Mt. Hood Avenue Station and the airport terminal because of construction.

The airport MAX Station will be closed for 11 weeks because of airport renovations. The station is expected to reopen Nov. 14.

Airport shuttle buses will take MAX riders between the Mt. Hood and airport stations every 5 to 10 minutes. The shuttle rides are free.

Riders should take buses that read “MAX Shuttle” on the electronic sign. The buses will pick up and drop off from the same area the Red Line MAX would normally board. TriMet advises riders should plan an extra 15 minutes for trips to and from the airport.

TriMet also reminds riders that face covering are required onboard all TriMet buses and trains, as well as on the airport shuttle bus.

The removal of a tower crane used on the Washington Park Reservoir worksite will close streets near the park most of this week.

Crews have close southwest Southwest Sacajawea Boulevard between Park Place and Sherwood Boulevard as of Sunday. The road will remain closed through the morning of Friday, Sept. 4. The closure applies to vehicles, bicycles and pedestrians.

Area residents and visitors to the park should expect delays, watch for detour signs and flaggers, and consider alternate routes.

The crane will be dismantled and moved in smaller sections by two mobile cranes, according to the Portland Water Bureau. Moving the crane will take several trips and time to load many tractor trailers.

Other roads in the area that may see intermittent detours and delays are Southwest Lewis and Clark Way, and Park Place.

Drivers exiting Washington Park may see detours onto West Burnside Street via Southwest Tichner Drive.
