Maxwell Rutherford Beggs was born on June 20, 1946, in Ogdensburg, he was the son of the late George and Inez (Rutherford), Beggs. He was a 1965 graduate of Morristown Central School. After high school, Max worked on the family farm for a period before starting his own business in 1973. Max Beggs Builders and Movers was his company that he would operate for 47 years. On July 16, 1983, he married Elaine Coffey at the Stone Presbyterian Church, Elaine died unexpectedly on June 10, 2017. Max enjoyed woodworking and NASCAR, he was a devoted follower of all of his grandchildren’s school, sports, and marching band functions. He was a true supporter of the Morristown Central School Rockets. He was a member of the I.A.S.M (International Association of Structural Movers) and the Morristown Fire Department, recently being appointed Fire Commissioner.
