MAX ERNEST FOWLER, 82, of Attica (formerly of North Branch), died Monday, May 18, 2020.

He was born September 26, 1937, in Columbiaville, to Ernest and Maxine (Hect) Fowler.

Max graduated in 1955 from North Branch High School. He married Nancy Ann Rowley on March 1, 1957 in West Branch. Mr. Fowler worked as a millwright for General Motors, at Chevrolet Metal Fab in Flint, retiring in 1991. He went on to attend and graduate from Missouri Auctioneer School with his oldest grandson Kevin Rowden, where he earned the title of “Colonel”. Mr. Fowler than worked over 30 years for Rowley Auction Service, he loved time spent at auctions. He will be dearly missed by everyone in his family and his “auction” family. Max was a longtime member of Attica-Imlay City Masonic Lodge #295, where he served as Worshipful Master.

Mr. Fowler is survived by his wife, Nancy Fowler of Attica; children, Brenda (Bill) Carr, Denise (Jim) Rowden and Melissa (Ryan) Darling; son-in-law, Patrick Lea; grandchildren, Amber, Elizabeth, Kevin, Christine, Tavis, Shawn, Michelle, Taryn, Greg, Eric, Tegan and Tanner; and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; stepmother, Maybelle Fowler; and great-grandson, Austin Robert Raymond.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any Cancer Research Charity.

A memorial service to celebrate Mr. Fowler’s life will be held at a later date.
